PURPOSE: Provide as needed and on-call support to Arion Care Private Home Care (PHC) members and/or their families. Provide scheduled services for unstaffed openings to ensure continuity of services to Arion Care members. Provide services in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. Payment is guaranteed for schedule, whether hours are worked or not.


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Able to acquire a DPS fingerprint clearance card
  • At least 3 months experience aiding an individual to meet essential personal physical needs such as showering, bathing, toileting, eating and other activities of daily living
  • Nursing experience or CNA license preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and be available when called into work


  • Provide on-call support for unstaffed shift openings on a last minute, as needed basis, to ensure continuity of service to members.
  • Travel to member's home. Locations could include all parts of the valley, including east and west valley. Payment is guaranteed whether you work hours or not.

  • Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Provide support in specific areas as needed:
    • Help members with safe transfers in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
    • Assist member with dressing and grooming (e.g., selecting clothes, taking off and putting on clothes, fastening braces and splints, oral hygiene, nail care, shaving, and hairstyling)
    • Assist member as necessary with hygiene and bathing (e.g., washing, drying, transferring, adjusting water temperature and flow, and setting up equipment)
    • Assist member with toileting (e.g., reminders, taking off and putting on clothes and/or undergarments, cleaning of catheter or ostomy bag)
    • Assist with personal care within the home such as changing linens, laundry and cleaning the member's living area and/or shared living areas.
    • Plan, shop for, and/or prepare nutritious meals for member or assist member in planning, shopping for, or preparing nutritious meals.
    • Assist member with eating and drinking
    • Perform housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, or washing dishes.
    • Perform a variety of duties as requested by member such as obtaining household supplies or running errands.
    • Direct member in simple prescribed exercises or in the use of braces or artificial limb
    • Assist with self-directed medication administration or medication reminders, under the written direction of Primary Care Provider (PCP) or as directed by home care nurse, and ensuring proper consumption and documentation as needed.
    • Accompany member to healthcare appointments or on other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance, and companionship.
    • Perform prescribed tasks to maintain and monitor member's skin integrity
    • Attend to certified service animal needs
    • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid when required and give appropriate attention to injury or illness
    • Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to member to promote mental health, alertness.
    • Complete delegated tasks within scope while working in conjunction with Nursing services, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • General supervision for a member who cannot be safely left alone.
    • Maintain records and observations of member care, condition, progress, or concerns to report and discuss with supervisor and responsible person.
  • Follow all company and Funding source policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
    • Reporting to work on time as scheduled.
    • Refraining from excessive absenteeism.
    • Work all hours as scheduled.
    • Obtaining prior approval for desired time off
    • Maintain all records, logs, and other documentation as required by
    • ISP, plan of care, funding source requirements and Company policy and procedure.
    • Act as an appropriate role model.
    • Ensure that a clean and safe environment free from abuse, intimidation and harassment is maintained.
    • Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations such as fire, application of CPR and First Aid, and behavioral interventions.
    • Maintain all training and certifications as required by Funding source and/or Company policies and procedures.

  • May include the ability to physically assist people as needed including lifting and transferring.
  • May require the ability to walk, kneel, stand, and bend in order to assist people with activities of daily living, hygiene, mobility and cleaning.
  • Patience and the ability to exercise restraint and self-control in potentially challenging situations.
  • Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency situations.


  • Telephone, Text, Email, Computer and/or FAX machines.
  • May require use of household appliances and tools: washers, driers, vacuums, dishwashers, mops, brooms, and may include the use of common household cleaning chemicals.
  • May require the use of a vehicle for transporting people.
  • May require assistance with adaptive/durable medical equipment.
