PURPOSE:


The Attendant Care (ATC) Specialist will provide consultative services to members and their families receiving attendant care. The ATC Specialist will be part of a collaborative team consisting of the member, parents and/or caregivers, ATC provider, support coordinator/case manager, and Area Managers/Supervisors. The ATC Specialist will observe environmental variables as well as direct care provision to members and/or their families, in their own homes.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • 2+ years' experience or Medical Healthcare licensure or Healthcare Credentials
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Confident written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-driven professional
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Able to acquire a DPS level one fingerprint clearance card
  • Bilingual preferred- Spanish & English
  • Fluency with ATC Service Description
    • planning document/ATC assessment
  • Fluency with advanced directives, resource utilization
  • Cultural Competency training
  • Intro to DD training
  • DCW Level 1, 2, and 3 training (professional licensure may override training requirement)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • ATC Monitoring training
  • Lifts and Transfers training
  • Slips, Trips & Falls training
  • Annual CEUs (6hours)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • In-vivo collaboration with and training of ATC providers, ATC monitors as well as parents/caregivers to ensure effective implementation of ATC strategies through a Behavior Skills Training (BST) model
  • Provide individualized training based on provider/member need (including but not limited to; lifts, transfers, catheter care, ostomy care, positioning, slips/trips/falls, durable medical equipment et al).
  • Model procedures/strategies, in-vivo, with the member and provider
  • Assist with ISP preparation, planning, and meeting attendance, as applicable
  • Complete incident reports as well as review incident report data to support programming, as needed.
  • Communicate member/provider training(s) and support with relevant team members (Area Manager/Supervisor, ATC Monitors, et al).
  • Provide management staff training (Area Supervisors, Managers, ATC monitors et al.), as needed
  • Conduct, document and analyze environmental assessments
  • Conduct 5-day ATC monitoring visits, as applicable
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Area Supervisors/Managers specific to provider-level staffing as well as support meetings
  • Maintain accurate scheduling with family, demonstrating reliability and predictability
  • Track and report service provision records
  • Provide referrals for necessary internal and/or external supports that may benefit the member
  • Participate on the ACS Safety Committee and other work groups/committees as needed
  • Follow all company and State policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
  1. Reporting to work on time as scheduled
  2. Refraining from excessive absenteeism
  3. Obtaining prior approval for desired time off
  4. Maintain all records, logs, spreadsheets, and other documentation as required by funding source, company rule, policy, and procedure
  5. Ensure clean and safe environment free from abuse, intimidation and harassment is maintained
  6. Maintain all training and certifications as required by funding source or Company policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain professional demeanor and protect confidentiality of member, staff, and agency information.
  8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Ability to physically assist members as needed including lifting/transferring up to 50lbs
  • Ability to walk, kneel, stand, and bend to assist members with activities of daily living
  • Patience, ability to exercise restraint and self-control in potentially high stress, challenging situations
  • Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency situations

WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • This job operates as a remote position, as Arion Care Solutions does not provide a separate workplace at a corporate location. Working from home or in the homes of ATC members requires a high degree of discipline and the ability to have a space dedicated if working at home and provision for childcare, if appropriate. Travel is required.
